Koray Construction

Born in 1969 in Manisa, Orhun Kartal graduated from Ankara Science High School in 1986. He completed his undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering at Boğaziçi University in 1991.

He has over 25 years of executive experience in construction, contracting, real estate, and energy sectors, with a strong background in entrepreneurship. Orhun Kartal has held leadership roles in the development and delivery of numerous contracting and construction projects across more than seven countries on three continents, leading teams of over 6,000 employees. While focusing on the construction, energy, and agriculture sectors, he has led significant projects in the renewable energy field, especially in solar energy. Additionally, he has continued investments in agricultural production and real estate.

From 1991 to 2012, he served as Chairman and Founding Partner at Kayı Construction Inc. In 2013, he founded the Hun Group of Companies with the purpose of developing, operating, and investing in renewable energy projects such as hydroelectric and solar power plants. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board and Founder of the Group. Hun Group continues its operations today, owning and operating solar power plants with a total capacity of 120 MW in Turkey and Eastern Europe. The group also owns a hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 40 MW in Turkey.

In addition, in 2017, he acquired Koray Construction and Real Estate Group, where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board and Majority Shareholder. Koray Construction and Real Estate Group has undertaken and successfully completed numerous construction projects both in Turkey and internationally, including in Russia, the United Kingdom, Jordan, Azerbaijan, and Saudi Arabia. These projects include shopping malls, hotels, towers, educational buildings, school campuses, and residential developments.

He is married and has three children.

Mr. Vehbi Ergin Öztürk graduated from Boğaziçi University, Department of Civil Engineering in 1991 and completed his MBA at the University of Baltimore (USA) in 1993. Between 1994 and 2005, he held various positions at Erfa İnşaat A.Ş., ultimately serving as General Manager. He also served as an engineer and senior executive at Capital Partners (Kazakhstan) between 2005–2007, Ingbau GmbH (Germany) between 2010–2011, and at various companies in Lithuania and Turkey.

By serving as a Board Member in various Koray Group companies at different periods, Mr. Öztürk continues his influence in the sector and participates in the strategic decisions of the company. Currently serving as a Member of the Board of Directors at Koray Yapı Endüstrisi ve Ticaret A.Ş., Mr. Öztürk is fluent in English.

Mr. Ahmet Salahattin Şakarcan graduated from Boğaziçi University, Department of Civil Engineering in 1991. Throughout his career, he has worked as an engineer and manager at various levels in numerous construction firms and projects. He served as a Managing Partner at Ingbau GmbH between 2010–2011 and as a Board Member at Hun İnşaat San. ve Tic. A.Ş. between 2013–2017.

Playing an active role in strategic and managerial decisions for both domestic and international projects, Mr. Şakarcan currently continues his duty as a Member of the Board of Directors at Koray Yapı Endüstrisi ve Ticaret A.Ş. and is fluent in English.
